Human activity is a self-defining process – every made ‘thing’ has a meaning; is a representation of the maker’s concerns and, knowingly or unknowingly, probably represents much else besides.
Objects are made out of human nature, out of our social, hopeful, remembered selves.
How do I create consciousness, what connections are there between me, the object and the world?
At the beginning of every action there is the perception of what we want to change in its form and function through our ‘adding’ to it.
My ceramic objects are abstract vessels which are made out of familiar forms – a re-imagining of function. Familiar forms have to be made again, to emphasize their poetic reference; a re-imagining of function is part of my work.
I give my work a touch of humour and wit.
They have an affectionate surprise and transport new consciousness or an awareness of function and forms.
I design and produce a colourful range of contemporary Jewellery, made from precious metals – Gold and Silver with porcelain to create unexpected twist.
The design is simple with elegant shapes.
Inspired by natural forms I aim to awaken a sense of harmony through delicate objects for the body and a connection to the individual spirit. |
